Measures to expand workforce
The labor force in Greece could rise by 398,000 people if participation in it in the 15-74 age group was equal to the EU average. The government is considering measures focusing on four population categories with comparatively low participation, including:
• Making it mandatory for large companies (over 250 employees) to set up nurseries or subsidize parents for nursery care.

Bulgaria Braces for Demographic Shift: Elderly People to Comprise Quarter of Population by 2027
It has been revealed that by 2027, Bulgaria will witness a significant increase in its elderly population, with individuals over the age of 65 constituting nearly a quarter of the total populace. This revelation emerged during a Round Table discussion organized by "Caritas Bulgaria" focused on the challenges surrounding long-term care for the elderly.
Future seniors without a safety net
Breaking with the age-old traditions, the family in Greece will in the future be less able to perform the role of safety cushion, taking care of the elderly when they can no longer live independently, due to demographic trends.

Umbrella bill on long-term care adopted
Ljubljana – The government has adopted a long-awaited bill on long-term care. A gradual approach is planned and a special mandatory contribution for long-term care, a key component of the system, will be put in place later, by mid-2024 at the latest.

Turkish elder care homes are taking measures to protect the elderly across the country as the world grapples with the continued dangers of coronavirus.
Turkey has some 27,500 state-owned and 426 private nursing homes operating under the Turkish Labor, Social Services, and Family Ministry.

Bulgaria has the least Nursing Homes for Seniors in the EU
Bulgaria ranks last in the EU by number of nursing homes for seniors for settlements. There are eighty-two in total for the country. And there are just over 5600 people living in them. However, the available places are not enough. Approximately 4,000 other pensioners are waiting for accommodation, Nova TV reported.
