More than 120,000 Romanian voters cast their ballots abroad by 7pm in the presidential election on Sunday, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) informed.

The nationwide voter turnout in today's presidential election was 48.89 percent by 7pm, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) has announced.

Turnout was 47.68 percent in the urban areas and 50.54 percent in the rural areas; in Bucharest, 48.93 percent of the registered voters have cast their ballots.

Romanian associations in Europe request resignation of Foreign Minister and extension of vote abroad

The Federation of Associations of Romanians in Europe (FADERE) request the resignation of Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean for the "poor organization" of the elections abroad and request the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) to extend the voting hours in the polling stations abroad in order for all those queuing to be able to exercise their right to vote.

Central Electoral Bureau: 35.10 pct voter turnout by 16:00 o'clock

The nationwide voter turnout in today's presidential election was of 35.10 percent by 16:00 o'clock, EET, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) has announced.

The nationwide voter turnout in today's presidential election was of 20.78 per cent by 13:00 o'clock, EET, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) has announced.

Turnout was 21.14 per cent in the urban area and 20.28 per cent in the rural area. As many as 20.78 per cent of the Bucharest resident voters also cast a ballot by 13:00 o'clock.

Central Electoral Bureau: 6.55 pct voter turnout by 10 a.m.

Voter turnout in Sunday's presidential elections was of 6.55 percent by 10 a.m., the Central Electoral Bureau has announced.

Turnout in the urban area was 6.37 percent and in the rural area it was 6.78 percent. A rate of 5.76 percent of the Bucharest residents had cast a ballot by 10 a.m..AGERPRES

Central Electoral Bureau to announce turnout at 11.30, 14.30, 17.30, 20.30 and 22.30

The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) will inform the public opinion and press regarding the voter turnout in the presidential elections of Sunday at 11.30, 14.30, 17.30, 20.30 and 22.30 EET.

The hours at which the polling stations are to send information towards the BEC are 10.00, 13.00, 16.00, 19.00 and 21.00.
