Britain celebrated Queen Elizabeth II becoming the country's longest-serving monarch on Sept.9 with a flotilla down the River Thames, a gun salute and the peal of Westminster Abbey's bells.

Queen Elizabeth II is probably the most well-traveled monarch. She has been to 116 countries on official visits, but not once to Greece even though her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, claims to be a “Greek Prince.” The reason could be the fact that the monarchy was overthrown in Greece affecting Prince Philip’s immediate family.

Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 88th birthday on Tuesday, and ABC channel decided to honor her with rare photos of her life.
