Iran has complained to the U.N. Security Council about sanctions the United States imposed on Iran in July, saying they breached Tehran's nuclear deal with major powers, the speaker of parliament was quoted on Tuesday as saying, Reuters writes.

The United States and three allies called for a Security Council meeting to respond to Iran's recent ballistic missile tests which they say were carried out in defiance of a U.N. resolution.

Tehran's recent ballistic missile tests did not violate a U.N. resolution and were not illegal, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said March 15 after being questioned on the issue by Australia.

The United Nations Security Council met on March 14 at the request of the United States to discuss the missile tests that have raised the prospect of new sanctions.

Iran's test of a ballistic missile earlier this week was a clear violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution and sends "a worrying message", French Foreign Ministry spokesman Romain Nadal said on Oct. 15. 

A missile test announced by Iran over the weekend was an apparent violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution and Washington will raise it at the United Nations, the U.S. State Department said on Oct. 13. 

Iran said it tested a new precision-guided ballistic missile on Oct. 11, signaling an apparent advance in Iranian attempts to improve the accuracy of its missile arsenal.
