BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade lost 3-1 at home to Greek side Olympiacos Piraeus in first leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers third round late Tuesday.

Ben Mohamed scored a precious brace for Olympiakos in Belgrade to lead the Reds to a 3-1 win over Partizan for the third qualifying round of the Champions League on Tuesday, while AEK lost 2-0 at home to a superior CSKA Moscow. The results render next week's return games largely academical.

TENNIS: Greek champion Maria Sakkari has advanced to the third round of Wimbledon with a 2-1 set (6-7, 6-4, 6-4) win over Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic on Wednesday. She will face Briton Johanna Konta next.

SOCCER: Olympiakos has signed former Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike from Fenerbahce, the Greek champion announced on Wednesday.

A well-motivated Turkish Spor Toto Super League leader Beşiktaş will take on archrival Fenerbahçe on Feb. 5 in a Ziraat Turkey Cup last 16 stage "do or die" game. 

Beşiktaş, which climbed to the top of the standings on matchday 18, put five goals past a strong Konyaspor on Jan. 30 to maintain a two-point cushion over Medipol Başakşehir.

Two erstwhile Turkish also-rans, Osmanlıspor and Atiker Konyaspor, secured draws against strong rivals in the UEFA Europa League late on Oct. 20, but Istanbul giants Fenerbahçe were sent packing by the Premier League's Manchester United away.

Fenerbahçe's sputtering season continued over the weekend after the team failed to beat 10-man Aytemiz Alanyaspor in a Spor Toto Super League game on Oct. 16, fueling rumors of an early departure for Dutch coach Dick Advocaat.

Last year's Spor Toto Super League runner-up Fenerbahçe has returned to its winning ways with two consecutive victories following a historically bad start.
