Govt confirms EUR 40m aid package to cut companies’ energy bills
Ljubljana – The government confirmed on Thursday an aid package under which EUR 40 million will be disbursed to companies this year and next to help them cope with higher energy costs. Three different types of aid will be available, according to Economy Minister Matjaž Han.
Germany to Reduce Heating in Public Buildings to 19 Degrees
Germany, which fears a shortage of gas, this winter will limit heating in public buildings with a thermostat that will not be able to exceed 19 degrees, announced the Minister of Economy Robert Habeck.
The environmentalist Habeck, who is also the climate minister, already in July presented energy saving measures.

Public buildings to save energy by keeping temps over 25 degrees
Ljubljana – Managers of buildings in state ownership have been asked not to set the air conditioners to under 25 degrees Celsius during the day and 28 degrees when offices are empty as part of efforts to cut energy usage by ten percent. In winter the temperature should not exceed 20 degrees.
Buildings to be required to use renewable energy
Buildings in Turkey above a certain size will be required to use renewable energy starting January next year to meet their energy consumption.
