The top players said it was unfair

The European Commission is launching a major international consumer rights campaign. The initiative is titled "You're Right" and aims to inform consumers about the rights the European Union guarantees them about the most common unfair practices and how to respond to such situations.

Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court (VAS) has upheld unfair commercial practice accusations of the consumer protection watchdog against telecom operator Vivacom.

Bulgaria's Parliament passed amendments to the Consumer Protection Act, extending the right of consumers to return goods bought outside the business premises within 14 days. 

The extension of the previous seven-day period was passed with the EU Directive of Consumer Rights (2011/83/EC), which became effective on June 13, 2014. 

Bulgaria's Parliament may avoid an infringement procedure for the failure to amend the Consumer Protection Act on time, according to the Chair of the consumer protection watchdog.

BELGRADE - A new consumer protection law, complying with the EU legislation, is soon to be passed in Serbia, but its full enforcement must be made possible by strengthening the relevant institutions, it was stated at the closing conference of the EU funded project in this area on Tuesday.
