Turkey criticizes UN for not taking consent of Turkish Cyprus on mission extention

Despite all calls and warnings, the consent of the Turkish Cypriot authorities was not sought once again, contrary to the United Nations rules and principles, while the U.N. Security Council extended the mandate of the U.N. Peacekeeping Force in the Island of Cyprus (UNFICYP) for six months with its resolution 2618 (2022) adopted on Jan. 27, the Foreign Ministry said.

Indian actress from Bollywood became the new "Miss Universe"

The representative of India Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu became the winner of the "Miss Universe" contest, which took place in the Israeli resort town of Eilat on the Red Sea, the Associated Press reported.

The Indian, a Bollywood actress, received the crown from her predecessor Andrea Meza from Mexico.

Mitsotakis at trilateral Israel-Greece-Cyprus summit: Greece-Israel relations better than ever

"Our relations with Israel are better than ever," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in joint statements in Jerusalem today with Israeli PM Naftali Bennett and Cyprus' President Nikos Anastasiades.

The three leaders are holding an Israel-Greece-Cyprus trilateral summit.

Arson attack on mosque in Greek Cyprus condemned

Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar has condemned the recent arson attempt on a mosque located in the southern part of the divided island of Cyprus.

In a statement, Tatar condemned the attempt to burn the Grand Mosque in Larnaca and called on the Greek Cypriot authorities to prevent such attacks and arrest those responsible at the earliest.
