European Comission Approves EUR 86.6M for Sofia Subway Line 3
The European Commission (EC) has approved another EUR 86.6 million from the European Regional Development Fund to finance further construction works on the western part of Line 3 of the underground in Sofia, according to a EC press release.
The funds will be used for four new stations along a stretch of 4km, from the city center to the ring road through Ovcha Kupel neighbourhood.

European Court of Justice Finds Bulgaria Guilty in Illegal Landfills Case
The European Court of Justice has ruled that Bulgaria has failed to fulfil its obligations under the EU Landfill Directive and has not taken the necessary steps to open new landfills matching EU requirements, according to Bulgarian media reports.
The ECJ has not made clear in its ruling what penalties Bulgaria will face for the delay, Sofia-based Capital daily reported on Monday.

Bulgaria's Govt OKs Operational Program Environment 2014-2020
Bulgaria's government approved operational program Environment 2014-2020 on Wednesday, according to Environment Minister Ivelina Vasileva.
The program is now to be approved by the European Commission.
Vasileva, as cited by the BGNES news agency, made clear that the budget of the operational program stood at BGN 3.5 B.
