Some 28 unexploded artillery shells have been detected in the Black Sea, off Istanbul's northern district of Şile, the provincial governor's office has announced.

A man swimming at a beach in Şile noticed some metal objects in the sea and reported the situation to the gendarmerie.

Nearly one-third of Ukraine's territory has been affected by heavy fighting and is likely to require intensive demining operations, the paper said, adding that more than 67,000 square miles (173,529 square kilometers) are contaminated with unexploded ordnance, according to Slovakia-based research center GLOBSEC.

A 250-kilogram aerial bomb from the Second World War has been discovered in Nova Gorica, a city on the border with Italy. Slovenian technicians are expected to attempt to defuse it on Sunday but since nearby residents will have to be evacuated on both sides of the border they are coordinating their plans with Italy.

In accordance with that decision, the withdrawal of those weapons from the US Department of Defense stockpile was ordered, which is scheduled to begin today.
As the Washington Post writes, it is expected that Biden will announce all the details of the decision on provision of ammunition today.

Two unexploded World War II naval mines were found by a fisherman in the coastal area of the region of Larissa, central Greece, on Thursday, state-run broadcaster ERT reported.

The mines were found at a depth of 10 and 11 meters, respectively, some 500 meters from shore of the popular Kastri-Loutro beach, at the municipality of Tempe.

Seventeen apartment buildings were evacuated Saturday in a Russian city near the Ukrainian border after an explosive device was found at the site where a bomb accidentally dropped by a Russian warplane caused a powerful blast this week, authorities said.

A video released by the Ukrainian military shows a rocket launcher firing missiles. A drone is heading towards it, which at one point swerves slightly and then crashes into a vehicle on the ground. It is, in all likelihood, a kamikaze drone.
As reported by the Western media, the recording has not been independently confirmed.

Military personnel from the Naval Forces (VMS) destroyed today, January 3, an unexploded ordnance found on the beach in the town of Obzor, Burgas Region.
