Facebook can Replace Passwords with Selfies

Facebook has begun testing a new system for identifying users. It replaces the usual passwords with ... selfies, Wired reports.

Test info began spreading first on Twitter. In front of Wired, Facebook confirms that it is actually trying such a method of identification. The goal is to reduce abuse by automated bots that create fake profiles and then build up "friendships."

German group buys Quizdom

Wednesday saw the number of Greek startups to be sold off this year rise to five, as app developer Quizdom was bought out by Germany's Friend4Media Group.

Just three years since it was founded, Quizdom claims its app of the same name has been downloaded onto over half the smartphones used in Greece - i.e. by more than 2 million people.

As reported by The New York Times, the reporters in Russia-24's initial story say, "It is a mystery why it has become so popular in Russia right now. Who is promoting this to the masses so actively?"
