Northwestern city hosts 114-year-old fair

The 114th edition of one of Türkiye's oldest fairs has kicked off in the northwestern province of Kırklareli's Pehlivanköy district.

Originally established as an animal marketplace during the Ottoman era, Pavli Fair evolved into a festival-like event in subsequent years, hosting entertainment and providing for the basic necessities of the local populace.

ArtContact fair in Istanbul aims to promote artworks in public sphere

ArtContact Istanbul Contemporary Art Fair that has opened its doors aims to promote artworks in the public sphere and international collaboration.

"We consider bringing together art in public spaces, promoting young people, and intensifying international collaborations as the goal of the fair," Bilgin Aygül, the board head of the organizer company Atis Fairs, told Anadolu Agency.

Each year in December, Ljubljana's Festive Fair becomes the centre of the city's social life.

The fair, set up in the immediate vicinity of a major open-air venue for festive events held daily throughout December, is well known for its vibrancy and cheerful atmosphere. Festively decorated green stalls, designed specially for the fair, sell a fine choice of products suitable for giving as gifts.

International defense fair IDEF starts in Istanbul

The 12th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) will be held in Istanbul on May 5-8. The fair will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defense, under the responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) and in the cooperation of Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization. 

Probe launched into injury of boy at Evia fairground

A prosecutor in Halkida, Evia, is investigating the circumstances that led to the injury of a 13-year-old boy at a fairground in Eretria, on the Gulf of Evia.

The boy injured his leg after it became caught in a hole in a trampoline, local media reported. He is still receiving treatment at an Athens hospital.
