Ferguson unrest

Residents of Charlotte, North Carolina, woke up to a state of emergency and the National Guard and State Highway Patrol deployed to their city on Sept. 22 after a second night of unrest sparked by the fatal police shooting of an African-American man. 

The return of an armed militia group patrolling the streets of Ferguson drew criticism on August 11 from both protesters and the county police chief overseeing security amid ongoing demonstrations marking the anniversary of 18-year-old Michael Brown's shooting death.

Two protesters have been wounded after shots were fired in Ferguson, Missouri, a day after the Baltimore clashes.

According to latest information from international media, it is yet unclear if the wounded individuals are connected to the protest march.

An 18-year-old black teenager has been fatally shot by police at a gas station in a suburb of St Louis, Missouri, reports The Guardian, quoting police and local media.

The incident took place near where unarmed teenager Michael Brown was killed by a white officer in August. 

On Dec. 6 a man was shot by a police officer in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and later died in hospital.

The white policeman who shot dead an unarmed black teenager in the St Louis suburb of Ferguson has resigned, but it failed to deter angry protesters demanding justice and reform.
      

National Guard deployed in U.S. town amid riots

FERGUSON -- Officials in the U.S. state of Missouri have ordered more National Guard troops to be sent to the town of Ferguson.

A police officer who shot and killed an African American youth there and whom a jury failed to indict has said his conscience was clear.
