Pets to no longer be caged on Istanbul ferries
The Istanbul City Lines has updated a regulation that previously required people to carry their pets in cages when commuting by ferries, it said in a statement on its official website on July 25.
Animals had to be carried inside cages with muzzles, according to the previous regulation.

Municipality bans passage of trucks and lorries on ferries in Istanbul
The Istanbul Municipality banned the passage of heavy vehicles on ferries in Istanbul on June 7, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Heavy-laden vehicles such as lorries and trucks will no longer be permitted to travel via sea on ferries, according to decision.
Ferries Between Denmark and Germany Suspended Due to Threat
Ferry operator Scandlines said Wednesday it has evacuated all its ferries in the Danish town Rodby and suspended ferry traffic between Denmark and Germany due to security reasons following a telephone threat, reported Reuters.
"All ferry operations have been suspended, and the ferries will be emptied as soon as the police allows them to go to port," a Scandlines spokesperson said.
Remote islands may see ferry services downgraded
Ferry links to Greece's remote islands are at risk of being severely downgraded in the next few years unless the right planning is made immediately and the necessary funds for subsidizing such routes are secured, coastal shippers warn.

Travel body slams ferry union for extended strike
As ferries remained anchored in Greek ports Thursday for the third day in a row due to a seamen's strike, the Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (HATTA) hit out at the seamen's union (PNO) for the protracted action, saying it was holding the Greek tourism sector hostage.

Greece without ferries for two days due to strike
Ferries will remain tied up at ports across Greece on Tuesday and Wednesday because of a 48-hour strike called by umbrella union of Greek seamen, PNO.
Seamen are protesting social security reforms and changes to labor market regulations demanded by the country's lenders.

Two rescued after jeep falls into Volos port
Two people were rescued after the car they were in fell into the harbor of Volos in central Greece on Tuesday night.
Two people working at the port dove into the water, broke the car's window and pulled out the passenger and driver after the vehicle shot off the docking bay right beside the ferry Proteus, which had just arrived from Skiathos and was unloading.

Syrian man found hanged at Piraeus passenger ferry terminal
Police and Coast Guard officers in the port of Piraeus were on Monday investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an undocumented migrant found hanged from a kiosk near a passenger ferry terminal.
The gruesome sight was first seen by a passer-by who alerted the authorities.
According to sources, the man was a 25-year-old Syrian refugee.
