Blockade is 'bloodless declaration of war': Qatari minister

Qatari Minister of Defense Khaled al-Attiyah has described a blockade imposed by several Arab states on his country as a "declaration of war."

"This is a bloodless declaration of war," al-Attiyah said in an interview with the London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper published on June 30, Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

"Disko" (short for disciplinary cell) in Turkish is the place where soldiers are sent when they are sentenced to solitary confinement in the Turkish military.

I wonder whether the soldiers who recently suffered from food poisoning in Manisa would have been sent to the "disko."

Overall hundreds of soldiers have been hospitalized as part of the food poisoning epidemic.

Turkey says it won't take part in 'Greek show' over Aegean

149 soldiers on run since July 15 coup attempt: Turkish defense minister

Some 149 military officers, including seven generals, are still on the run since the failed coup attempt of July 15, 2016, Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Işık said on Feb. 5.

Answering a question from Republican People's Party (CHP) lawmaker Ali Yiğit in parliament, Işık said a total of 149 fugitive soldiers were missing. 

Turkish Defense Minister urges dialogue with Greece amid escalating tensions

Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Işık on Feb. 5 called on Greece to solve the problems between the two neighbors through dialogue amid escalating tensions between the two NATO allies. 

Işık said the neighboring countries should work together to solve their problems, while adding that "provocative statements" of his Greek counterpart, Panos Kammenos, must end.
