ISIL threatens to kill two Japanese hostages: video
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) threatened to kill two Japanese hostages unless Tokyo pays a $200 million ransom within 72 hours, in a video posted on jihadist websites on Jan. 20.
In the footage, a black-clad militant brandishing a knife addresses the camera in English, standing between two hostages wearing orange jumpsuits.
Algerian terror suspect faces prosecutor
A 33-year-old Algerian national arrested in connection with a deadly raid on a suspected Islamist cell in Belgium last week is set to appear before a prosecutor Tuesday at noon.
Belgian authorities have requested his extradition on terrorism charges.

New Shooting Incident in France Leaves 2 Wounded
A man has fired at a municipal police officers near Paris, leaving one officer and a municipal official severely hurt.
Police have detained a suspect, and government officials are due to visit the crime scene later on Thursday, the Bulgarian News Agency reports citing AFP.

Driver ploughs into pedestrians in France's second 'Allahu Akbar' attack
A driver shouting "Allahu Akbar" ("God is greatest") ploughed into pedestrians in eastern France Sunday, injuring 11 of them, just a day after a man yelling the same words was killed in an attack on police officers.
Two of the people injured in the car attack in the city of Dijon were in a serious condition, a police source said, adding that the driver had been arrested.
