First Davutoğlu Cabinet

Turkey and China have potential to further improve their relations in near future, Turkey's Culture and Tourism Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said on April 20.

A cabinet reshuffle has been discussed since before the April 16 constitutional referendum, which consolidated all executive powers in President Tayyip Erdoğan's hands. Especially after being re-elected as the chairman of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) on May 21, which was something enabled by the referendum as well, a cabinet reshuffle seemed so close and easy.

I'm curious what will happen if certain cabinet ministers are changed this week. Let us assume that the foreign minister is changed. Will Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu's replacement, who will still be from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), make substantial changes to Turkey's foreign policy? 

The newly elected leader of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Binali Yildirim, announced the new Turkish government on Tuesday after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan.

Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu convinced former Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan to stand as a candidate for the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the Nov. 1 election on the last day before the deadline for the party to submit their candidate lists to the Supreme Election Board (YSK).

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has announced undersecretaries from relevant ministries would be appointed in order to replace the ministers of the interior, justice and transportation ministries, who have to procedurally resign from their posts as part of a constitutional obligation designed to ensure a neutral election environment.
