Bulgaria Ends Its Women's Participation in Miami with Two Defeats
The two female tennis players representing Bulgaria at the women's singles competition in Miami were defeated in the second round on Friday.
Tsvetana Pironkova was defeated by the Italian Flavia Pennetta with 7:6 (1), 3:6, 3:6, while Sesil Karatancheva lost to Garbine Muguruza from Spain with 1:6, 3:6.

The second best in the Bulgarian ranking was off to a successful start Thursday, defeating US player Lauren Davis by 6:3, 7:6 (5). Karatancheva will be facing the ranked number 21 in the tournament Garbiñe Muguruza in the next round.

Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova recorded a victory in the first round of the women's singles competition at the Apia International Sydney on Monday.
Pironkova won against Italy's Flavia Pennetta with 6:3, 7:6 (4) in a match that lasted hour and a half.
Jankovic beats Pennetta to reach quarterfinals in Rome
ROME - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic beat Italy's Flavia Pennetta 6-2 6-3 in Rome on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.
Jankovic dominated throughout the match, earning a well-deserved victory against world number 12, her 8th in 10 matches against Pennetta.
She will next face Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland, who beat Francesca Schiavone of Italy 6-4 6-1.
Ivanovic reaches Stuttgart quarterfinals
STUTTGART - Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic is through to quarterfinals at the WTA tournament in Stuttgart, after beating Julia Georges of Germany 2-1, in sets 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday.
The Serbian tennis player will next take on the winner of the match between Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova and second-seeded Simona Halep of Romania.

Jankovic to face Pennetta in Stuttgart 2nd round
STUTTGART - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic will face Flavia Pennetta in the second round of the Stuttgart WTA tennis tournament after the Italian beat Andrea Petkovic of Germany 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 late Wednesday.
Jankovic has a 6-2 head-to-head ratio against Pennetta, the current world number 13.
The Serbian beat Mona Barthel of Germany 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 late Wednesday.
