Bulgarians Waste Over 500 Leva Worth of Food Annually

Each Bulgarian discards an average of 93 kilograms of food annually, translating to a financial loss of over 520 leva, according to Eurostat data. In Greece, there is enough food for all, the European Union offers hundreds of millions of euros in aid, several organizations and civil society groups provide their services and yet there is a high degree of poverty, hunger and insecurity. This simple presentation of things reveals many bitter truths.
