US President Biden Begins His European Trip

US President Joe Biden set out on his first overseas trip on Wednesday, his European trip will culminate in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva on June 16. Biden's Air Force One left Joint Base Andrews located just outside of Washington and headed to the UK. The US leader is expected to land at RAF Mildenhall situated around 100 kilometers away from London.

Joe Biden departs Washington early on June 9 on the first foreign trip of his presidency, launching an intense series of summits with G7, European and NATO partners before a tense face-to-face with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

Biden, 78, heads from the White House first to Britain ahead of a G7 summit in a Cornish seaside resort from Friday to Sunday.

USA Don't Want Conflict with Russia Says Biden

 The United States does not seek conflict with Russia, US President Joe Biden said for The Washington Post.

"In my phone calls with President Putin, I have been clear and direct. The United States does not seek conflict. We want a stable and predictable relationship where we can work with Russia on issues like strategic stability and arms control," he pointed out.

Date of First Putin – Biden Meeting Fixed for June 16

President Joe Biden will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva on June 16, the first summit between the two leaders since the American president took office.

"The leaders will discuss the full range of pressing issues, as we seek to restore predictability and stability to the U.S.-Russia relationship," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement Tuesday.

Putin cornered?

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently visited Kiev as part of new efforts by the administration of President Joe Biden to show support for Ukraine, after the recent accumulation of Russian troops on the country's border. Blinken met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and emphasized America's commitment to this Eastern European state.
