NATO forces will leave together from Afghanistan: Blinken

 

The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on April 14 the moment has come to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and that Washington would work with NATO allies on a "coordinated" pull-out.     

"Together, we have achieved the goals that we set out to achieve and now it is time to bring our forces home," Blinken said in Brussels ahead of talks with NATO partners.     

Biden invites 40 leaders, including Erdoğan, to virtual climate summit

U.S. President Joe Biden has invited 40 world leaders to a virtual climate summit that will take place next month, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the White House announced on March 26. 

The April 22-23 Leaders Summit on Climate "will underscore the urgency - and the economic benefits - of stronger climate action," the White House said in a statement.

White House says Biden does not regret calling Putin ’killer’

The White House on March 18 defended President Joe Biden's comment that he agrees Russian leader Vladimir Putin is a "killer."

"No, the president gave a direct answer to a direct question," Press Secretary Jen Psaki said when asked by reporters whether there was any regret over Biden's comment.

Biden to call Erdoğan 'at some point,' US says

U.S. President Joe Biden will call Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan "at some point," the White House said on March 5. 

The announcement comes after Biden spoke with several world leaders in his first month-and-a-half in office, including those of Canada, Mexico, Japan, Germany, China, Russia, the U.K., and France.
