Chairman of NATO's Military Committee Petr Pavel says there are reasons for concern over Russia-Belarus military maneuvers Zapad (West) 2017.
According to him, the exercise "could be seen" a "serious preparations for big war".
Conventional arms control in the 21st century
The Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) was signed in Paris on Nov. 19, 1990. Signed between the 16 members of NATO and six members of the Warsaw Pact, the treaty aimed to eliminate force disparities between the two military camps and to establish an effective system of verification.

40 Years from the First Satellite Signal from Bulgaria to Space
August 17 this year makes 40 years since the launch of the first satellite-to-space signal in Bulgaria. The occasion was the opening of the international "Universiada 77" on August 17, 1977. The ceremony is transmitted directly to the cosmos from the newly-built 30 km from Sofia station, then called Shipka Earth Space Station, now called "Plan".
Russian "aggression toward NATO increasing" - UK official
British Defense Minister Michael Fallon said in Romania on Thursday that "Russian aggression toward NATO is increasing."
Beta is reporting this, citing AP, adding that Fallon stated that NATO was "right to have agreed to a very high readiness taskforce."
STRATCOM chief: US has 'no defense' against Russian cruise missiles

NATO and the United States have "no defense" against land-based cruise missiles if Russia deploys them in any quantity, the chief of US Strategic Command told senators, arguing the US must respond to Russian threat "from the position of strength."
Vice Admiral Eftimov: No Increased NATO Presence in Black Sea Region
There is no increased presence of NATO's forces in the Black Sea, stated interim head of defence Vice Admiral Emil Eftimov.
According to Eftimov, the focus right now is on training and exercises.
"We focused on optimising training and exercises conducted in the Black Sea region. We do not perceive an escalation or reinforcement in that presence," stated Eftimov.
