Dacic, Masum Significance of friendly relations historical

BELGRADE - In a conversation with Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic in Baghdad on Wednesday, Iraqi President Muhammad Fuad Masum highlighted the historical significance of the cooperation between Belgrade and Baghdad, which he said was developing without open issues and to mutual satisfaction.

Turkish FM Çavuşoğlu in Iraq, Mattis in Turkey

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is set to pay an official visit to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Aug. 23, on the same day as U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis is set to visit Turkey.

Çavuşoğlu's visit was planned in order to lay grounds for a scheduled visit by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to Turkey. 

UN chief Ban Ki-moon holds Baghdad talks

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Baghdad on March 30 for talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and other top officials.
      
Ban first met President Fuad Masum and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari and was also due to meet parliament speaker Salim al-Juburi before holding talks with Abadi.

BAGHDAD -- Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic has conferred with Chairman of Iraqi Parliament's Committee on Security and Defense Hakim Al-Zamili.

They spoke about "security challenges within his working visit to Iraq on Tuesday, and they agreed that terrorism and religious extremism constitute the greatest threats in this context."
