Man torches himself, admitted to ICU
A 25-year-old man was admitted to an Iraklio hospital in Crete on Wednesday with second-degree burns after reportedly dousing himself in gasoline and setting himself on fire. He is reported to be in serious condition.

Russia Reinstates Gasoline Export Ban Amid Rising Domestic Prices
The Russian government has reintroduced a ban on gasoline exports, effective from September 1 until the end of the year, in an effort to stabilize domestic prices following significant increases. This measure comes in response to rising fuel demand during the summer season and scheduled maintenance at oil refineries, some of which have also been damaged by Ukrainian drone strikes.
Unleaded is “on fire” on the islands – Over 2 euros a liter
The price of fuel has risen again, with those who have chosen to holiday on an island having to dig deep into their pockets to fill their car’s tank.
Average unleaded prices in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese have already exceeded 2 euros a liter, while prices in other tourist areas of the country are close to that level.

Amidst concerns over potential fuel shortages exacerbated by Ukrainian drone attacks, Russia has approached Kazakhstan with a request to stand ready to supply 100,000 tons of gasoline, as reported by three industry sources to Reuters.
Fuel price rise in Cyprus as subsidy ends
Following the elimination of the 8.3-cent subsidy per liter on April 1, increases in the average price of 95-octane gasoline have been observed in the districts of Limassol, Nicosia and Famagusta, with the exception of Paphos, where the price only rose by 8 cents.
