ADEDY calls for 24-hour strike on Thursday
Greece’s public sector union (ADEDY) has called a 24-hour strike against the planned social security reforms which will take place on April 7.
Journalists in Greece will participate in the strike and as a result new will not be published or transmitted from 06.00 on Thursday until 06.00 on Friday.

Bulgaria's Prison Guards Ready to Go On Strike
The trade union of the prison guards in Bulgaria is ready to announce a general strike of its members, its leader Ivan Petrov told the bTV national channel.
“We are seeking solutions to the problems of those working in the prisons and are preparing a petition for changing the work shifts from 24-hour to 12-hour,” Petrov said.

Greece Braces for Media Protest, General Strike
Media employees and port workers will stage a nationwide strike in Greece on Tuesday, a day ahead of a 24-hour general strike against austerity measures.
The media sector demands new collective contracts, as well as an end to mass layoffs and delays of salaries, as the website Dnevnik.bg has reported.

Port workers launch work stoppage ahead of two days of strikes over privatization
Stevedores across the country walked off the job until 11 a.m. on Monday in a protest against the planned privatization of Thessaloniki port.
A 24-hour strike has been called for Tuesday, when Parliament will debate the relevant legislation.
The port workers will also take part in Wednesdays general strike.
Greek unions to hold general strike on April 9
Greece's largest public sector union says it will join a nationwide general strike April 9 to protest austerity measures. The move means that the walkout will affect all private and public sector services.
The ADEDY union said Thursday it was joining the strike call issued by the GSEE union a few days ago.
