The American School of Classical Studies at Athens presents some of the Gennadius Library's most important specimens of Asia Minor editions, manuscripts and documents, focusing on the geographical dispersion of Greek printing houses in Smyrna, but also in Kydonies and Trebizond from 1764 to 1922. Morosini and his Legacy | Athens | To February 29
The year 2019 marked 400 years since the birth of Francesco Morosini (1619-94), who was elected doge of Venice in 1688, and Maria Georgopoulou, director of the Gennadius Library, and Alexis Malliaris, archivist at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, have curated an exhibition that showcases several important events in his military and administrative career.

Acropolis Redux | Athens | May 18 - July 14
The American School of Classical Studies at Athens presents "Acropolis Redux: Caryatid/Frieze," an exhibition presenting the work of British photographer Ian Walker, who captured the enduring presence of the Erechtheion's Caryatids and the Parthenon's frieze in various guises from London housing projects to a Cleveland mansion.

Gennadius Library hosts tribute to Ioannis Makriyiannis
Walking through the iron gate and into the pretty garden of the Gennadius Library feels like stepping into a literary adventure. According to its director, Maria Georgopoulou, "there is always the possibility that right beside the book you are looking for, you may find the one you were supposed to find."

Classical Music | Athens | September 27-30
The Schwarz Foundation and the Gennadius Library present a program of classical musical evenings at Cotsen Hall from September 27-30. Each evening will feature a different program with soloists and musicians from the renowned Curtis Institute of Museum in Philadelphia, PA. The concerts start at 8.30 p.m. and admission is free of charge.

Curtis on Tour | Athens | September 28 - October 1
In association with the Schwarz Foundation, the Gennadius Library at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens is hosting a series of classical music concerts featuring featuring Curtis on Tour, the Nina von Maltzahn Global Touring Initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music. Performances take place at the library's Cotsen Hall on September 28, 29 and 30 and October 1.
