Pharrell Williams heads up 'Live Earth' global climate concert
More than 100 artists will take part in a global "Live Earth" concert on June 18 to galvanise demands for climate action, former US vice president Al Gore said Jan. 21.
"We are going to have one event all over the world on all seven continents," he announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

UN pushes ahead on 2015 climate deal after marathon
UN members pressed ahead Sunday with a vision for a historic pact to defeat climate change by adopting a format for national pledges to cut Earth-warming greenhouse gases.
At a marathon conference in Lima, they also approved a blueprint to guide negotiations for the deal due to be sealed in Paris in December 2015.

UN weather agency: 2014 on track for hottest year
With temperature data showing 2014 currently tied for the hottest year on record, the U.N. weather agency on Dec. 4 rejected claims that global warming has paused.
The World Meteorological Organization said the global average temperature in January-October was 0.57 Celsius (1.03 Fahrenheit) above average, the same as in record hot year 2010.
