Marianna Vardinogiannis, a prominent philanthropist, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and wife of shipping magnate Vardis Vardinogiannis has died, it was announced on Monday.

She was 86 years old.

Hazal Kaya, a prominent Turkish actress, has been selected as the new goodwill ambassador of Turkey by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

UNFPA Turkey announced the selection through a live broadcast from its social media account with the participation of Kaya.

Turkish celebrity Tuba Büyüküstün, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the UN Children's Fund, participated in a workshop for Syrian and Turkish children on Dec. 11.

Ivica Dacic on Thursday ceremonially awarded diplomatic passports to Serbian Olympic medalists in individual events at the London and Rio Games.

The foreign minister thus made them goodwill ambassadors, Tanjug reported.
