Molotov attack on riot police outside Turkish Consulate in Thessaloniki

A riot police unit stationed outside the Turkish Consulate in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, was attacked early Monday by unidentified assailants throwing Molotov cocktails. The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on Agiou Dimitriou Street. No injuries were reported, according to police.

Authorities detained four individuals, and their possible involvement in the attack is under investigation. The motives behind the assault remain unclear.

Separately, on Sunday, Thessaloniki police arrested seven individuals during protests marking the 51st anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising - a pro-democracy student movement violently suppressed by Greece's military dictatorship in 1973. A total of 46 people were detained throughout the day.
