Azerbaijan ruling party wins polls

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's party has won snap parliamentary elections, the poll commission announced Monday.

Aliyev had called Sunday's snap legislative election ahead of schedule to avoid the poll coinciding with the COP29 climate conference that Baku is to host on November 11-22.

Orlic meets with Azerbaijani parliament speaker in Baku

BAKU - Serbian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, met with his counterpart Sahiba Gafarova in Baku on Friday.

They said they were pleased to be meeting again after Gafarova's visit to Belgrade in May this year, when they signed a MoU to confirm a commitment to continuing the dynamic cooperation.

Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on Tuesday met with a delegation headed by Krasimir Karakachanov, Deputy Prime Minister for Public Order and Security and Minister of Defense Bulgaria, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry informed.
