A cartoon published on Thursday by the famous French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has angered Romanian fans of the winner of the Roland Garros Tennis tournament, Simona Halep.

The magazine published a drawing of Halep holding the trophy and a caption reading: "A Romanian wins Roland Garros: Scrap iron! Scrap iron!"

The Romanian tennis player and once again No. 1 WTA Simona Halep has been granted on Monday night the Honorary Citizen of Bucharest title by General Mayor Gabriela Firea, in a ceremony at Excelsior Theatre.

Romanian tennis sensation Simona Halep, world No. 3, wrote on her official Facebook page that although she lost in the Miami Open semifinals, the match against Serena Williams has enriched her, as did the other encounters with the US champion.
