Turkey's top business organization sues government-controlled trade body

Turkey's top business organization TÜS?AD has sued the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DE?K), once an arm of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) but recently put under the control and surveillance of the Economy Ministry, to opt out from membership in the organization and to not pay membership fees.

Sabancı Holding Retail Chief Haluk Dinçer is set to leave after six months at the helm of Turkey's top business organization.

Dinçer will not stand as a candidate for chairman at the annual congress of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) on January 22, 2015, Hürriyet has learned. 

‘Winter Sleep’ becomes Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s most-watched movie

Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s latest film “Kış Uykusu” (Winter Sleep), which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24 and was released in Turkish movie theaters on June 13, drew over 237,000 viewers in its first month, becoming Ceylan’s most-watched film, according to the Turkish Box Office.

Cannes Festival winner ‘Winter Sleep’ comes to silver screen soon

Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s latest film, “Kış Uykusu” (Winter Sleep), which won the coveted Palme d’Or prize at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24, will come to movie theaters on June 13.

Starring Haluk Bilginer, Melisa Sözen and Demet Akbağ, the film will be released in 150 halls in 123 movie theaters in 39 cities.
