The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Bulgaria has initiated a comprehensive nationwide operation in response to alarming bomb threats received via email targeting various schools. The operation, which commenced early in the morning before the start of classes, involves thorough checks of educational institutions across different cities.

As a result of the heavy rains in the North-West, the government is taking additional preventive measures to protect the life and health of the population, reports the press center of the Council of Ministers.

State of emergency has been declared in Bulgaria's northwestern municipalities of Mizia and Hayredin, both in the region of Vratsa, due to overflowing dams.

The dams "Rogozen-1" and "Barzina" are overflowing due to the abundant rainfall in the past days, daily Dnevnik informs.
