Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed into a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, setting fire to dozens of cars and homes to avenge the deaths of four Israelis killed by Palestinian gunmen the previous day, residents said. Palestinians said one man was killed in the violence.

Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian woman in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday who they said had approached them while carrying a knife. Another Palestinian was killed as the army went to demolish the family home of an attacker.

Turkey strongly condemned Israel on Feb.1 for its decision to terminate the mandate of international monitors in the West Bank town of Hebron.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has announced an investigation into an "infrastructure for transferring funds via couriers between Hamas command centers in Turkey and the Gaza Strip and the Hamas command center in Hebron."

Israeli police have banned Muslim men under the age of 50 from a contested shrine in Jerusalem, according to the Independent.

The ban comes ahead of feared mass protests over the installation of metal detectors aimed at increasing security at the site. 

Muslim leaders have called for mass protests at Friday's noon prayers.

The shrine is revered by both Muslims and Jews.

Three Palestinians carried out two attacks - a shooting and a car-ramming - on Israelis in the southern occupied West Bank on March 14 before they were shot dead, the Israeli army said.

An Israeli paramilitary policeman shot dead a Palestinian who had stabbed a soldier in the occupied West Bank on Oct. 29, police and the army said, as a month-long spate of attacks showed no signs of abating.

Israeli troops early on Oct. 20 destroyed the West Bank home of a Palestinian jailed for killing a Jewish settler in a knife attack late last year, the army said.

Israel on Sept.24 defended the actions of its soldiers who shot dead an 18-year-old Palestinian woman at a checkpoint in the West Bank as questions swirled over the events that led to the killing.
