The Road Agency is warning motorists to drive carefully, as Weather Service forecasts rain turning into snowfor overnight and tomorrow in high-mountain regions.

Drivers should make sure their vehicle have right tyres, drive at appropriate speed and with caution, observe the necessary distance and avoid risky overtaking, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) urged.

"Let the Bulgarians see how a road is made in the rock, the builders work like bees. They have made great progress. What I have made as a commitment to the North and the Northwest is working at full speed. To be alive and healthy next year this road will be ready.

A driver is without a license for 3-month and owes 1 000 leva for driving at the opposite of the Hemus highway. He appealed the punishment to the Shumen district court, but the magistrates confirmed the sanction set by the traffic police.

AM Hemus will be closed in both directions for an hour on July 13th, the API press center reported.

The traffic will be stopped in the 49 to 53 km distance from 23 pm to 24 pm in order not to hinder traffic during the day.

An incident involving a bus carrying children has taken place on the Hemus highway, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced. There are no injured people. 

A queue of automobiles of about 6 km has formed on the Hemus motorway before the Vitinya tunnel in the direction of Varna, the Ministry of Interior's Sofia Regional Directorate said. Police teams are on-site to assist and regulate traffic. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes if possible.

The construction of a new 134 km of the Hemus highway in the section between Boisa and the road I-5 Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo starts.

Sofia. The government has allocated an additional BGN 35.3 million for the construction of the 9.3-km section of Hemus motorway between Yablanitsa and Boaza. The money will cover payments for completed construction works and consultancy services.

Sofia. By the end of the year, we will start repairing three more facilities on the Hemus and Trakia motorways, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov said at a briefing after a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov, Focus News Agency reports.

This year's summer season in Bulgaria begins with traffic congestion and blockades on the roads. The toughest situation will be traditionally on the Hemus highway, which will have restrictions all summer. By the middle of June, a repair will take place some 20 kilometers from the Trakia highway after Plovdiv.
