PM Ponta calls Qatar Airways to invest in TAROM, Otopeni Airport

AGERPRES correspondent Doroteea Purcarea reports: Prime Minister Victor Ponta met the CEO of Qatar Airways on Sunday, and subsequently announced he submitted a call for investments in a package comprising the Otopeni Airport near Bucharest and the Romanian airline TAROM.

Number of passengers having transited through Bucharest airports in Q1 2015 up 15.5 per cent against Q1 2014

The number of passengers having transited through the airports close to the Romanian capital city saw a 15.5 per cent increase in Q1 this year, as compared with the same interval of last year, with the Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport and the Bucharest Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport scoring together a record traffic of 1,809,228 passengers, the Bucharest National Airport

Wizz Air to Fly to Five New Destinations from Sofia

The low-cost Hungarian airline Wizz Air will start flying to five new destinations from Bulgaria's Sofia Airport.

From the middle of September Wizz Air will start operating flights from Sofia to Bari, Cologne, Geneva, Munich and Naples, daily Dnevnik reports.

The flights to Bari and Cologne will start on September 14 and will be operated twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport, 4th in Europe in terms of traffic increase in 2014

Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport has been ranked at no. 4 by Airports Council International-Europe in the European rankings of airports that recorded the highest increase in air traffic in 2014, within the category of airports that saw between 5 and 10 million passengers.

Air traffic under winter conditions on Bucharest airports

Air traffic is taking place under winter conditions on Bucharest airports, but some flights may record delays of some 30 minutes for take-off, due to defrosting the aircraft, and only in some cases the delays are longer than one hour, National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB) informs on Tuesday.
