Poland ForMin: US Ties 'Worthless', UK's Cameron 'Incompetent'

Fresh excerpts of a tapped conversation between Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and a former Finance Minister have triggered another scandal involving the government.

In recording provided by Wprost, a news magazine, Sikorski is heard making insulting remarks on relations with Washington and British Prime Minister David Cameron's EU policies, the BBC reports.

Polish FM Sikorski Proposed as EU Foreign Policy Chief

Poland has nominated its Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski to become the next EU foreign policy chief.

The country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk was quoted by the BBC as saying that Sikorski would be a "natural candidate".

In Tusk's view, "Poland has gained such influence in foregn policy" that the position would be within the scope" of its interests.

EU Calls for Independent Investigation into Odessa Deaths

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton demanded an independent probe to establish those responsible for the violence that left over forty dead on Friday in Odessa, Ukraine.

On Friday, clashes between pro- and anti- government protesters in Ukraine's Black Sea port of Odessa killed at least 42 people and left over 125 injured.

Ashton: Serbia example to others in region

BELGRADE - EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton has voiced confidence on Monday that Serbia can be the example to others in the region, and show them what can be achieved through hard work and leadership.

Addressing the Serbian parliament during a special session, Ashton noted that some tough choices will also have to be made in the process.

Ashton to address Serbian parliament on Monday

BELGRADE - EU High Representative and Vice President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton will address the Serbian parliament at a special meeting on Monday.

The meeting will start at 3:15 p.m. CET, according to the parliament.
Ashton will arrive in Serbia on Monday to meet with future prime minister Aleksandar Vucic and President Tomislav Nikolic.
