A significant fire broke out in central Sofia last night, affecting a three-story house located at the intersection of "Bratya Miladinovi" and "St. St. Cyril and Methodius." The smoke from the fire spread to nearby buildings, with residents in the area around Hristo Botev Blvd. able to feel its impact.

At exactly 12 o'clock today, Bulgaria will honor those who died for its freedom with a two-minute wail of sirens. These sirens, signaling "Air danger," will sound throughout the country as a reminder from the Ministry of the Interior. During this time, all pedestrians and vehicles in populated areas are expected to halt, standing still in reverence.

The emblematic verse "He who falls in the fight for freedom, he does not die" was again proclaimed on the mountainous Vratsa Balkan, where hundreds gathered to pay tribute to the Bulgarian heroes, 146 years after the heroic death of the poet-revolutionary.

Hristo Botev is one of the brightest figures in Bulgarian history - a great national hero and revolutionary who dedicated his life to the freedom of our country. We also know Botev as a publicist and poet with amazing works that to this day touch our hearts and which Bulgarians recite by heart.

The day of Botev and those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria will be celebrated in the military units of the country with honors.

At exactly 12.00 p.m., for 2 minutes, sirens across the country will sound with an intermittent signal.

Across Bulgaria, sirens will sound for two minutes at noon on 2 June 2021 in an annual custom honouring the memory of revolutionary, poet and rebel Hristo Botev, who died in 1876 in the struggle against Ottoman rule, as well as in tribute to all who died for the freedom of Bulgaria.
