Experienced Mountaineer Died on his Way to Mount Botev

A middle-aged man from Karlovo died today on the way to Botev peak, Mayor of Kalofer Rumen Stoyanov announced. He was an experienced mountaineer, but slipped and fell into a abyss.

The incident happened 40 minutes from the hut "Paradise", at the beginning of the Tarzanova path. Stoyanov recalled that this is a summer trail and in winter it is risky.

Small Free Libraries will Appear in Several Locations Across the Country

In the yard of Vasil Levski Primary School in Razgrad today will be opened the first "Small Free Library". The initiative is by Calvin Page, an English language teacher in Los Angeles, California, and is being co-hosted with children from the Bulgarian Hristo Botev School in Washington and students from the Razgrad School.
 

Bulgarians Pay Tribute to Botev and the Dead Heroes of Bulgaria

On today's date (June 2nd), we pay tribute to one of the greatest Bulgarians in our history - Hristo Botev, as well as to the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of Bulgaria.

Hristo Botev was born in Kalofer in the family of the teacher Botyo Petkov and Ivanka Boteva. He was a Bulgarian poet and national revolutionary.

Sofia has two new pedestrian zones - the section of Vitosha Boulevard in front of the Courthouse, from Alabin Street to the traffic lights on Stamboliyski Blvd. and Georg Washington Street between Pirotska Street and Trapezitsa Str.

The speed is limited to 30 km/h in the space between Alabin str., Hristo Botev boulevards, Vasil Levski, Tsar Osvoboditel and Lege Str.
