President Iohannis signs appointment of FinMin Teodorovici as Deputy PM

President Klaus Iohannis on Wednesday signed a decree under which Minister of Public Finance Eugen Teodorovici is appointed acting deputy PM , according to the Presidential Administration. He also took note of the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Viorel Stefan and the termination of his governmental capacity.

Rouvikonas hits hospital after caregiver's death

Around 10 members of the Rouvikonas anarchist group staged a "raid" at the Nikaia General Hospital near Piraeus on Wednesday to protest the death of a private caregiver last weekend.

The woman, who has been identified as an undocumented Armenian national, died of injuries after jumping out of a window to evade a possible inspection of her residence and work permit.

Bulgaria Destroys over 24 Tons of illicit Tobacco

Bulgarian authorities have destroyed 1.74 million illicit cigarettes and 22.26 tons of bulk tobacco with a total weight exceeding 24 tons, the National Customs Agency (NCA) said in a statement on Thursday, reports Xinhua. 

The illegal goods were first crushed in a mechanical mill and then burned, the statement said.

Air passenger compensated over five-hour delay

A man whose flight from Athens to Kozani was delayed by five hours has secured compensation from the airline, in addition to the usual complementary flight offered to passengers in such circumstances, after complaining to the Ombudsman that the excessive delay led to the cancellation of all his planned business meetings that day.

In just one working day - May 31, the employees from the cosmetics company succeeded to change the atmosphere and environment in the centre both inside the building and outside in the big yard and turn it into a better temporary residence.
