France approves $60 mn compensation over Nazi rail deportations
French MPs on June 24 approved a landmark deal with the United States in which France agreed to pay $60 million in overall compensation to foreign nationals deported to Nazi death camps on French trains in World War II.
Bosnia Arrests Gang for Robbing in France
Bosnian police in cooperation with colleagues in France have arrested seven persons and raided several sites, targeting organized crime rings and human traffickers. The raids took place in Zenica, Vlasenica, Jajce and Prijedor.
The joint action, code-named CD, targeted human traffickers in relation to labour exploitation, stealing and begging in France.

Man sentenced for 1990 abduction and murder to be extradited from Turkey
A 58-year-old man who had been sentenced to life in prison for a kidnapping and murder carried out in Greece in 1990 was due to be extradited from Turkey on Wednesday.
Constantinos Spinaris absconded while on furlough from prison in 2005 but was caught in Turkey a year later for drug smuggling.

City of Chicago apologizes to police torture victims with 5.5 mil. USD
The city of Chicago will be giving dozens of people tortured by police between 1970 and 1980 the total amount of 5.5 million USD, while it will also undertake other initiatives for said people, such as raising a monument to torture victims.

Two men were arrested on the island of Kos on Friday for allegedly kidnapping a 22-year-old man and blackmailing his parents.
Police said that the two men, aged 31 and 41, abducted their victim in the island?s main town on Thursday due to financial differences.

The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) has leveled serious criticism at Bulgaria.
In a public statement concerning Bulgaria made on March 26, the CPT draws attention to shortcomings in the treatment and conditions of detention of persons deprived of their liberty.
