Belgium did not ‘delay’ in MEP’s case, lawyer says
The lawyer representing a woman who has accused SYRIZA MEP Alexis Georgoulis of rape pushed back on Wednesday against claims that Belgian justice authorities had been slow off the mark in their response to the case.
The original complaint by Eleni Chronopoulou was submitted in 2020, accusing Georgoulis of rape and causing bodily harm.

A Park in Canada will be named after a Bulgarian
Bulgaria can now be proud of the first park of its kind in North America. It is located in the city of Mississauga and was renamed in honor of our late honorary consul in Canada - Ignat Kaneff.
"Mr. Kaneff is a great visionary, donor. A man with a big heart," said Velislava Panova, Consul General of Bulgaria in Toronto, Canada.

Bats, axes, swords, flares found in building next to soccer club
Officers in Thessaloniki found wooden bats, axes, swords, flares, a sickle, a glass breaker, and knives of various sizes in an abandoned building, next door to an association of Aris soccer club fans, police said Saturday.
The raid took place by the police division tackling sports violence after receiving a tip.
Wife faces charges after setting husband alight
A 52-year-old woman is expected to appear before an Athens prosecutor after dousing her 57-year-old husband with a flammable liquid and setting him alight.
The domestic violence incident occurred on Holy Thursday evening in the central Athens district of Agios Panteleimonas.

"A Ukrainian, Yuriy Denisov, organized the assassination of the Russian war blogger Vladlen Tatarsky," the FSB reports.
He came from Kyiv in February, via Latvia to Russia, securing the explosive device that killed the blogger, and then left Russia in April, right after the crime.
