Search operation underway to find British woman missing on Greek island
Greek authorities launched a large-scale search operation on the northern Aegean island of Ikaria on Tuesday to find a British woman who was reported missing by her partner, according to a local news website.
Land register for parts of northern Greece, three islands open
Property owners with homes or plots of land in Kastoria, Florina, Drama, Xanthi and Halkidiki or on the islands of Samos, Icaria and Chios have until May 30 to declare their assets on the online land register.
The assets can either be registered at local or regional land registry offices or online at www.ktimatologio.gr

Fire risk alert issued for north, south Aegean islands
The general secretariat of the Interior Ministry's Civil Protection issued an alert over a high risk of fire on Thursday for the islands of the north and south Aegean.
The alert concerns the islands of Samos, Ikaria and the Dodecanese.
Fire warnings issued for several islands
Authorities have issued fire warnings for Saturday on the islands of Icaria, Chios and Samos in the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese chain in the southeastern Aegean and Crete.
This is the second time so far this summer that a fire warning has been issued, after one in June for the Ionian islands and parts of the Peloponnese.

Kammenos: 'We are ready to deal with any threat'
The souring atmosphere in Greek-Turkish relations was fuelled again by the outspoken Defense Minister Panos Kammenos on Wednesday who slammed the neighbouring country for its continued provocations and called for vigilance towards "an opponent who continues to provoke."

Seaman injured on Ikaria as ship's rope broke
A 52-year-old crew member of the Nissos Myconos ferry sustained serious leg injuries when the ship's rope broke during the process of the vessel's departure from Ikaria island, in the eastern Aegean, late on Thursday.
At the time of the accident there were particularly strong winds at the Ikaria port of Aghios Kirykos. The seaman was on board when he got injured.

Greek, Turkish jets engage in mock dogfights
Greek and Turkish F-16s engaged in three mock dogfights east of the island of Rhodes in the southeastern Aegean yesterday. The dogfights occurred within the space of 10 minutes from 2.50 to 3 p.m.
In total, 10 Turkish F-16 jets - four of them armed - and two CN-235 transport aircraft entered Greek national airspace 30 times.
