Sofia Municipality Started Operation For Demolition Of Illegal Roma Homes in Sofia's Neighbourhood 'Zaharna Fabrika'

The demolition of illegal Roma homes in one of Sofia's Neighbourhoods ''Zaharna fabrika'' has begun.

More than 143 shacks and 6 houses will be pulled down.

The operation started early this morning and is currently underway, there is a heavy police presence.

There is no tension for the moment.

One killed, two wounded in armed attack in Istanbul restaurant

One person was killed and two others were wounded after being shot in a restaurant in Istanbul's Beykoz district on Jan. 30, Doğan News Agency has reported. 

The attacker randomly opened fire on a customer in the restaurant, who was allegedly the murderer of the attacker's father 12 years ago.  

The incident was not related to a terror attack, according to reports.

Court in Bulgaria's Plovdiv Issues Prison Sentences to Five People Smugglers

The Regional Court in Plovdiv, in southern Bulgaria, has issued its first jail sentences for people smuggling, bTV reported on Tuesday.

One man was sentenced to eight months in prison and four other defendants were issued suspended sentences as well as fines ranging from BGN 1000 to BGN 5000, the Bulgarian TV station said.

Two reported missing after speedboat capsizes in Istanbul's Bosphorus

Two people have been reported missing after a speedboat capsized in Istanbul's Bosphorus strait, crashing into the pier of a waterside cottage early June 28. 

The speedboat capsized around 4:30 a.m. off Anadoluhisar?, a coastal neighborhood in Beykoz, a district in Istanbul's Anatolian side, after it crashed into the pier of the historical Hekimba?? cottage. 

Illegall Landfills Near Plovdiv Now Investigated

Specialized teams will be removing the illegal landfills in the Plovdiv neighborhood of Stolipinovo. Tons of rubbish in the Roma neighborhood have caused tensions with the rest of town. Inspectors accompanied by police officers will also be investigating reported cases of illegal stock breeding, the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) reported.
