The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against the famous pop singer Gülşen following her words she uttered against the students of state religious "imam hatip" high schools.

A janitor has been sentenced to a record 572 years in jail for sexually abusing 18 children in the student lodging of a religious vocational (imam-hatip) secondary school in the southeastern province of Adıyaman.

Students who began eighth grade on Sept. 18 will be very well prepared for life.

The Education Ministry has reportedly asked all 39 district directorates in Istanbul to funnel Syrian students to religion-focused imam-hatip schools.
