Millions of people in France and Spain were set to embrace a relaxation of stay-at-home rules on May 11, but Britain extended its lockdown as countries plot their way tentatively through the coronavirus crisis.

Greeks sent 110 million texts to leave house during lockdown
Greeks sent a total of 110 million text messages to the number 13033 to leave the house during the 42 days of full lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the Digital Governance Ministry announced on Monday.

Bakeries, pharmacies to be open during curfew
Bakeries, pharmacies and private and public hospitals will be open during this weekend's lockdown, the Interior Ministry has said on April 16.
The 48-hour curfew will be effective on April 17 at midnight in the country's 31 provinces, including the three largest cities of Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir.

India's Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
India, a country of 1.3 billion, has been able to limit the number of deaths to less than 200 in the 10 weeks since the first COVID-19 case was detected. Reported cases in India are much lower than the global incidence rate. The pandemic has also been contained geographically with negligible "community" transmission.

Coronavirus cases exceed 1,000; 32 dead
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece has exceeded 1,000, according to the latest government briefing.
The number of confirmed cases nbow stands at 1.061, up 95 from 24 hours ago.
There were also 4 fatalities, bringing the total to 32.
Holland was added to the already long list of countries flights have been banned to and from.
