Administrative inquiry ordered over bullying incident

The Ministry of Education has ordered an administrative inquiry into a latest bullying incident involving a 12-year-old boy at a high school in the Athens suburb of Nea Ionia.

The ministry announced that the inquiry was ordered to determine any responsibility on the part of the school's administration and the teachers who were allegedly present during the incident.

Three minors arrested for bullying, robbery on Zakynthos

Three minors, aged 13 and 14, were arrested on the island of Zakynthos, western Greece, for bullying and stealing from a 14-year-old classmate over several months.

The suspects, including two brothers, repeatedly assaulted the boy and stole 300 euros in total. The abuse was exposed when they attacked him in public on Solomos Square, slapping and insulting him.

In an interview with OK! magazine, the former athlete initially mentioned: “My relationship lasted a total of seven years, and the marriage three. I couldn’t take it any longer.”

Consumers show mixed response to restaurant boycott call

The call for a boycott of restaurants and cafes due to exorbitant price increases has received a mixed response from consumers and business owners over the weekend.

Social media users initiated the boycott, which was scheduled to take place on April 20-21, to express their discontent with rising prices.

On adolescent violence

School bullying and, more broadly, adolescent violence are social problems that cannot be solved by administrative decisions alone. 

However, the state's mobilization is necessary to begin to systematically record and methodically deal with the problem. The measures announced by the government are a good start.
