İstiklal bomb attacker gets multiple life sentences
An Istanbul court has sentenced the main perpetrator of the deadly bombing on the city's bustling İstiklal Avenue in November 2022 to seven aggravated life sentences and an additional 1,790 years in prison.
17 people detained after attack at Istanbul election campaign event, official says
Turkish authorities detained 17 people in connection with an attack at an Istanbul campaign event for upcoming municipal elections, Turkey 's interior minister said Sunday.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya provided no details on the assailants' affiliation or motive for the attack that critically injured a woman.

Three defendants have been released in the case of the 2022 terrorist bombing that claimed the lives of six people on İstiklal Avenue, one of the tourist hotspots in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district.
The trial continued in relation to the terrorist bomb attack on İstiklal Avenue on Nov. 13, 2022, in which six people were killed and 99 were wounded.

The explosions, one large blast followed by a smaller one, occurred about 11 p.m. local time (3 p.m. ET) after a heavily attended football game at Besiktas Vodafone Arena.
