Istanbul nostalgic tramways

Istanbul has geared up for a modern makeover on Taksim's İstiklal Avenue with plans to swap out the trams with traditional overhead power lines with battery-powered electric trams, which have already started their test runs.

The Istanbul Comics and Art Festival (ICAF), which had been organized in Kadıköy district's Moda neighborhood for the last three years, is moving to Beşiktaş this year on the European side of the city.

The historic tram connecting Istanbul’s Tünel Square and Taksim Square was reopened on Dec. 30 after a year of renovations on İstiklal Avenue.
