Culture minister injured in incident

BELGRADE -- Serbian Culture Minister Ivan Tasovac was assaulted and lightly injured during an incident on May 3, the Interior Ministry (MUP) has announced.

ISTANBUL, BELGRADE -- 53-year-old Turk Kadri Aktas, accused of murdering a 25-year-old Serbian basketball fan, has changed his statement during the trial in Istanbul on Friday.

Aktas now claims that he "did not stab anybody with a knife," the N1 broadcaster is reporting.

Turkish police detain suspect in murder of Serb

BELGRADE -- K. A., a Turkish national, has been detained by the Turikish police on suspicion that he stabbed to death visiting Serbian basketball fan Marko Ivković.

Serbian Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović told Tanjug on Friday that he learned this from Turkish Ambassador in Belgrade Mehmet Bozay.

Police on Tuesday arrested seven fans of Turkish basketball team Galatasaray in connection with the fatal stabbing last week of a Serbian fanof the Red Star Belgrade team during the violence that erupted in front of the stadium in Istanbul, Serbian media reported.        

Demarche to Turkish ambassador over death of Serbian man

BELGRADE -- Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday gave a demarche to Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay over the murder of a Serbian man in Istanbul.
